RRB NTPC Exam Eligibility Criteria

Here’s the complete detail of the RRB NTPC Exam Eligibility. Candidates who apply for this exam should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions prescribed for the posts as mentioned RRB NTPC Notification.

Note: Candidates waiting for results of prescribed educational qualification should not apply.

The prescribed eligibility criteria that every candidates applying for this exam should fulfill are as mentioned below.

RRB NTPC EXAM ELIGIBILITY – NATIONALITY

A candidate applying for the RRB NTPC Exam should be:
Acitizen of India
OR
A Subject of Nepal
OR
A Subject of Bhutan
OR
A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with an intention to settled down permanently in India.
OR
A person of Indian origin migrated fromBurma; East African countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia; Pakistan; Sri Lanka, and Vietnam with an intention to settle down in India permanently.

RRB NTPC EXAM ELIGIBILITY- AGE LIMIT

The candidate applying for the RRB NTPC exam should not be less than 18 years and not more than 32 years.
Minimum age limit: 18 Years
Maximum Age Limit: 32 years

The age limit of the candidate is calculated as on 1st January 2018. This is the general age limit criteria for all the posts under Railway NTPC category.

The date of birth of candidates should be between the dates given below.

RRB NTPC EXAM ELIGIBILITY- AGE RELAXATION TO VARIOUS RRB NTPC CATEGORIES

As per the RRB Notification released on their official website, the age relaxation is available only for some reserved categories in the upper age limit.

RRB NTPC EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

The educational qualification eligibility criteria for RRB NTPC exam depends on the post opted by the candidates.

For some posts in NTPC category along with the requisite graduation degree from a recognized university Typing Proficiency Skills is also required and the candidates should have obtained a Typing certificate for that particular posts.

The educational qualification given below is considering only the RRB NTPC Graduate Level Exam and based on the posts the candidates have opted.

RRB NTPC MEDICAL FITNESS CRITERIA

Candidates recommended for the appointment should also ensure that they fulfill the mentioned medical fitness criterion for the posts they have opted.

Candidates should pass the medical fitness test in order to ensure that they are medically fit to carry out the duties connected to the post. The medical fitness test depends on the posts opted by the candidates under the RRB NTPC Category.

The most important test under the medical fitness test is the Visual Acuity Standards or eye-sight, which is one of the important criteria of medical fitness of railway staff.

  • Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6, with or without glasses when reading or close work is required.

NOTE: Candidates who are found medically unfit for the posts chosen then they will not be given any alternative posts.
Eligibility of the candidates will be considered only on the basis of the information providedby the candidates while filling theOnline Application. If at any stage of recruitment or thereafter, if any information provided by the candidate is found incorrect or the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria for any of the posts under the RRB NTPC Exam, then the candidates’ candidatures will be rejected.

Candidates should also ensure that they satisfy the mentioned medical fitness criterion for the posts they opt. Candidates who are found medically unfit for the posts chosen then they will not be given any alternative posts.
