RRB ALP Exam Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are interested to get a job in railways and especially willing to apply for the Assistant Loco Pilot Post then here are the edibilitycriteria for RRB ALP Post which candidates should know before preparing for this exam.

Candidates appearing for the RRB ALP 2018 Exam should go through the eligibility criteria and ensure they satisfy all the prescribed conditions.

Candidates should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility criteria prescribed by the RRB as the eligibility of the candidates is considered based on the information provided by them while filling the Online Application. If found the information provided by the candidates is incorrect at any stage of the exam, then the candidate’s application will be cancelled or rejected.

Before applying for the post(s), candidates should ensure they satisfy all the eligibility criteria given below.

  2. AGE LIMIT
  3. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION(S)
  4. MEDICAL STANDARD

NOTE:

  • Issue of e-call letter to the candidates will not imply that their application is accepted by the RRBs.
  • Candidates waiting for their final examination result are not eligible and advised not to apply. They can apply once they clear the examination after the results and obtain the requisite qualification as mentioned in mentioned in the Centralized Employment Notice.
  • Candidates submitting multiple applications with minor changes in the information will be rejected and debarred from all future examinations of RRB/RRC (Railway Recruitment Cell).
  • Admission to all stages of the examinationis purely conditional subjectbased on candidates fulfilling the mentioned eligibility conditions.
  • Candidates should also pass the medical fitness test and candidates who fail in the test will not be recommended for any alternative posts/services. candidates who have opted for the ALP post should note that the medical standards are strict for this post and they should fit both physically and in terms of vision standards (as indicated below).

Below given is the detailed RRB ALP Exam Eligibility Criteria which every candidate should ensure satisfy and such candidates will be recommended for the appointment in the Railways.

RRB ALP EXAM NATIONALITY/CITIZENSHIPELIGIBILITY

Candidate applying for the RRB ALP Post should ensure their nationality or citizenship condition meets as prescribed below.

A candidate must be either:

a. a citizen of India
OR
b. a subject of Nepal
OR
c. a subject of Bhutan
OR
d. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India,
OR
e. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

NOTE:

  • andidates who belong to aforementioned categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) should have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India (GOI).
  • Such candidates mentioned above will be allowed for the examination, anyhow, they should submit the Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India during the Document Verification,candidates who fail to produce the certificate will be rejected.

RRB ALP EXAM AGE LIMIT ELIGIBILITY

The minimum age of a candidate applying for this RRB ALP Exam should be 18 years and the maximum age should be 28 years.

Minimum Age: 18 Years

Maximum Age:  28 Years

The lower and upper age limit is common for all the notified posts and the same shall be relaxed for the various categories or communities who are eligible for relaxation in upper age limit.

The relaxation in upper age limit/maximum upper age for categories/communities is as mentioned in the following table.

*The below mentioned relaxation in upper age limit is applicable subject to producing therequired certificates.

7 Candidates who are working in Quasi-Administrative offices of the Railway organization such as Railway Canteens, Co-operative Societies and Institutes Up to the length of service rendered (or) 5 Years, whichever is lower.
8 Women candidates, who are widowed, divorced or judicially separated from husband but not remarried U R 35 Years of age
OBC-NCL (Non Creamy Layer) 38 Years of age

9 Course Completed Act Apprentices applying for the posts with requisite minimum qualification as ITI/Course Completed Act Apprenticeship. Shall be relaxed to the extent of Apprentice Training undergone by them under the Apprentice Act 1961
10 Candidates who are Course Completed Act Apprentice (CCAA) in the Apprenticeship Act before attaining the age of 25 years U R 35 Years of age

NOTE :

*If a candidate is eligible for relaxation of age on more than one ground, he/she would be accorded the highest of the age relaxations (not cumulative) for which he/she is eligible.

No age relaxation is allowed to SC/ST/OBC-NCL (Non Creamy Layer) candidates if they applyunder the unreserved (UR) vacancies.
The candidates who belong to the Person with Disabilities (PWD)category applying against unreserved (UR) vacancies will be eligible for age relaxation as applicable for UR PWD only.

NOTE: Candidates should note that the date of birth filled in this application should be same as recorded in the Matriculation /SSLC or an equivalent certificate. The RRBs will not considered any subsequent request for changes in the same.

RRB ALP EXAM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS ELIGIBILITY

As on the closing date for submission of the ONLINE application, candidates should have obtained the Educational/Technical qualifications from recognized Institute/University for the posts prescribed in the CEN.

NOTE:

Candidates who are waiting for the results of the final examination of the prescribed educational/technical qualification SHOULD NOT apply.

Diploma/Degree in Engineering will not be accepted instead of course completed Act Apprenticeship / ITI for the post of Technicians unless otherwise specified.  Graduate Act Apprentice will not be accepted instead of Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA).

RRB ALP EXAM MEDICAL STANDARDS ELIGIBILITY

Candidates called for Document Verification (DV)must pass themuch needed medical fitness test(s) conducted by the Railway Administration to certify that they are medically fit to carry out the duties connected with the post(s) they have opted.

Visual Acuity Standard is one of the important criteria of medical fitness of railway staff.

The medical requirements for different medical standards for various categories are as follows:

Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required.

3. B-2 Physically fit in all aspects Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 4D).

4. C-1 Physically fit in all aspects Distance Vision: 6/12, 6/18 with or without glasses.

Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required.

A-1, A-2, A-3, B-1, B-2, and C-1 = Various Levels of Medical Standards which the candidates will have to qualify before appointment in Railways.
