RRB NTPC Notification

The RRB NTPC Recruitment 2018 Notification will be released very soon and the RRB NTPC examination will be conducted after a month or two from the date of the release of the notification.

The RRB NTPC 2018 Recruitment is expected to fill 2.5 Lakh vacanciesin technical and non-technical categoriesof the railway department. The Railway Recruitment Board yearly released notification to recruit candidates for various vacant posts.

The RRB NTPC Exam is conducted every year to recruit candidates for various posts under this category and below given is the list of posts to which a candidate may be recommended for appointment after clearing all the stages of the exam along with fulfilling the RRB NTPC Eligibility Criteria. RRB NTPC Recruitment Process

Railway Recruitment Board – Non Technical Popular Categories (RRB NTPC) Exam Pattern has a CBT (Computer Based Test) for all the 9 posts in this category,following which the qualifying skill Test (Typing) or Aptitude Test wherever applicable is conducted and then the Document Verification.

The date, time and venue of the CBT/online examination, skill test and aptitude test will be fixed by the RRB and the same will be intimated to the candidates.

The RRB NTPC Exam selection process is strictly made as per the merit.The CBT is conducted commonly for all the notified categories.

  • For category 1, 2, 3, and 4 (CA, TA, ECRC, and Goods Guard) merit will be drawn on marks obtained in CBT.
  • For category 5, 6, and 9, (Snr. Clerk cum Typist, JAA, Sr. Time Keeper) typing skill test of qualifying nature (marks obtained in typing skill test will not be counted for merit).
    • The merit will be drawn only for the candidates who have qualified in the Typing Skill Test and based on the marks secured in the CBT.
  • For categories 7 and 8 (ASM and Traffic Assistant), Aptitude Test will be conducted and the number of candidates called for the test would be 8 times the number of vacancies to be filled.
    • The merit will be drawn only for the candidates who have qualified in the aptitude Test and based on the marks secured in the CBT. Candidates should have secured at least 70 per cent weightage given to the marks secured in the CBT and 30 per cent weightage given to the marks securedin the aptitude test.
  • Candidates who qualify all the stages of the RRB NTPC Exam shall be called for document verification.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for Document Verification. No additional time will be given to candidates in submitting the documents and candidates who fail to produce the documents will be rejected.
  • In addition to the number of vacancies, 50% extra candidates shall also be called for all the categories to avoid shortfall in empanelment.

NOTE

PWD (Person with Disabilities) candidates who are exempted from the typing skill test should bring the typing skill test exemption certificate to the Type Test Centre issued by the competent medical board.

Candidates (opted for ASM and Traffic Assistant) called for aptitude test are required to bring Vision Certificate to the Aptitude Test Centre from an Eye Specialist on prescribed format, candidates who fail to bring the certificate will not be allowed to appear in the exam.

RRB NTPC CBT PATTERN

RRB NTPC prelims exam consists of 4 sections i.e. as following

  • The question paper is of objective Multiple Choice Type.
  • The question paper will be set in English, Hindi, Urdu and local languages as indicated in the RRB NTPC Notification.
  • The standard of questions asked in the CBT (computer Based Test) is generally in conformity with the academic standards mentioned for the posts.
  • The objective type with multiple choices questionsare likely to include questions on topics General Awareness; Arithmetic; General Intelligence; and Reasoning.
  • The question paper for single stage Computer Based Tet (CBT) will be for a duration of 90 minutes for 100 questions.

  • There shall be negative marking for wrong answers in CBT (Computer Based Test) and 1/3rd of the marks allotted for a particular question will be deducted as penalty.

NOTE:

  • Candidates are not allowed to use calculators and other electronic gadgets.
  • Candidates who clear the Medical Fitness Test conducted by the Railway Administrationof selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite in Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration along with the final verification of educational and community certificates and verification of antecedents/character of the candidatesare recommended for appointment.
  • The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) at their discretion may conduct additional CBT (Computer Based Test) and or Skill Test/Aptitude Test if the circumstance demands for all or for a limited number of candidates as may be deemed by the RRBs.
  • The RRB only recommend names of the successful candidates to Zonal Railways/Production Units. The process of appointment thereof is managed by the Chief Personnel Officer of Railway/Production Unit Concerned.

RRB NTPC EXAM TYPING SKILL TEST PATTERN

For category 5, 6, and 9, (Snr. Clerk cum Typist, JAA, Sr. Time Keeper) typing skill test of qualifying nature (marks obtained in typing skill test will not be counted for merit).

  • The number of candidates called for the typing skill would be 8 times the number of vacancies to be filled
  • The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English and 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer only on which the spell check and editing tools will be disabled.
  • Candidates who have opted for Hindi Typing test KrutiDev and Mangal Font will be made available for skill test.
  • The merit will be drawn only for the candidates who have qualified in the Typing Skill Test and based on the marks secured in the CBT.

RRB NTPC EXAM APTITUDE TEST PATTERN

The aptitude test wherever applicable is conducted for candidates who have qualified the CBT – the first stage of the RRB NTPC Exam. Candidate who have opted for the categories 7 and 8 (ASM and Traffic Assistantposts) shall be called for an aptitude test.

The aptitude test is conducted to test the abilities and personality traits of the candidates which is required for this job. The test is designed in such a way that it gives the recruiter an accurateextent of the candidates’ strengths and limitations.

The aptitude tests have been designed for various jobs in critical safety categories.

Candidates will be provided with the test battery that would consist of 5-6testsmentioned for the job they have opted for.

Generally, the tests are administered in groups of 35‐150 candidates. Candidates should mark the answers for the given questions on the OMR Answer Sheets.

NOTE:

  • Most paper-pencil tests require candidates to record their answers on a separate answer sheet so that they can be scored quickly.
  • The answers should be marked on the answer sheet by completely darkening the circles using a blue ball point pen.
  • Candidates are not allowed to change their answer, if more than one circle is shaded for a question then it will not be considered for evaluation.

RRB NTPC EXAM MEDICAL FITNESS PATTERN

Candidates who are recommended for the appointment should also pass the medical fitness test to ensure that they are medically fit to carry out the duties connected to the post which they have opted for.

NOTE :

  • Before indicating options for categories in ONLINE Application, the candidates must ensure that he/she fulfills the prescribed medical standards for that category/post.
  • Candidates who are found medically unfit for the posts chosen then they will not be given any alternative posts.
  • Candidates who do not fulfill the prescribed medical standards should not apply.

RRB NTPC EXAM DOCUMENT VERIFICATION

Candidates are required to submit the all original documentsto ensure their eligibilityat the time of document verification as mentioned below:

  1. Matriculation/High School Exanimation Certificate or Equivalent Certificate (Proof of Date of Birth and Matriculation Qualification)
  2. Degree Certificate/Semester-wiser Mark sheet.
  3. Caste Certificate for SC/ST
  4. Caste Certificate for OBC (not older than one year from the date of document verification)
  5. Non-creamy layer declaration by OBC Candidates
  6. Original Discharge Certificate for Ex-servicemen
  7. Income Certificate for Waving Examination Fee for Economically Backward Classes
  8. Minority community declaration on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper
  9. Self-certification by the Transgender candidates.
  10. NOC from serving employees
  11. Original Discharge Certificate for Ex-servicemen
  12. Medical Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PWD)
  13. Legal document in case of formal change of name
  14. Receipt of payment if made though a challan at SBI branch or Pay-in-slip at computerized post office.

NOTE :

  • All the above mentioned certificates should be submitted in the formant as mentioned in the RRB NTPC Notification. Certificates obtained in any other format will be not accepted.
  • All certificates should be either in Hindi or English only if not self-attested translated version should be produced wherever required.
