UPSC Combined Medical Services Examination Fee Details

Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only). The payment for CMS Exam Fee can be made in three modes as given below.

  1. By depositing cash in any SBI branch
  2. By using Net Banking facility of SBI; State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore
  3. By using Visa/Master Debit/Credit Card.

ALL FEMALE CANDIDATES AND CANDIDATES WHO BELONG TO SCHEDULED CASTES/SCHEDULED TRIBES ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PAY ANY FEE. NO FEE EXEMPTION IS, HOWEVER, AVAILABLE TO OBC CANDIDATES AND THEY ARE REQUIRED TO PAY THE FULL PRESCREIBED FEE.

NOTE :

    1. Candidates who choose to make the exam fee payment through ‘Pay by Cash’ Mode should take a printout of the Pay-in-slip which is generated by the system during the Part II registration process and deposit the cash should be deposited the next working day only at the counter of any branch of SBI.
      A day before the closing date of the online application at 11:59 PM the “Pay by Cash” mode option will be deactivated. But candidates who have generated the Pay-in slip before the de-activation can deposit the cash at the counter of SBI Branch during banking hours next day i.e. on the closing date. Such candidates holding a valid Pay-in-Slip and not able to pay by cash on the closing date for whatsoever reason can opt for Debit/Credit Card or internet Banking Payment mode on the closing date i.e. till 6:00 PM as there is no other offline mode to make the payment of exam fee.
    2. Candidates should note that payment of examination fee can be made only through the aforementioned modes. Payment of fee through any other mode will be considered invalid and unacceptable.
    3. Under any circumstances, the exam fee paid will not be refunded nor the same fee amount can be used to pay for any other examination.
    4. Those candidates whose payment details are not received by the banks will be treated as fictitious payment cases and their applications will be rejected for that instance. A list of all candidates whose application has been rejected under fictitious payment will be made available on the UPSC Official Website within 2 weeks after the closing date of online application.
      Candidates can appeal against fictitious fee payment and should submit proof of document like the copy of the receipt of payment of fee made within 10 days from the date of the announcement of the fictitious payment list. Candidates can either submit the proof of document by hand or send it by speed post to the Commission.
      On receiving the receipt of documentary proof, genuine fee payment cases will be considered and their applications will be accepted again.
      Proof of document to be submitted as the receipt of payment is as follows.

      • Original receipt of bank-pay-in-slip for Cash deposited in the State Bank of India or any other designated banks -.
      • Bank authorities validated copy of credit card statement or Bank Account Statement if the payment was done using debit/credit card or internet banking mode.

ALL FEMALE CANDIDATES AND CANDIDATES BELONGING TO SCHEDULED CASTE/SCHEDULED TRIBE/PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED CATEGORIES ARE EXEMPTED FROM PAYMENT OF FEE. NO FEE EXEMPTION IS, HOWEVER, AVAILABLE TO OBC CANDIDATES AND THEY ARE REQUIRED TO PAY THE PRESCRIBED FEE IN FULL.

Candidates who belong to the physically handicapped category are exempted from the payment of fee given that they are but for appointment to the services/posts reserved for the physically disabled category the PH candidates are eligible only if they meet the medical fitness standards including any reductions particularly extended to the physically handicapped candidates.

A Physically handicapped candidate is required to submit to the commission a certified copy of the certificate from a Government Hospital/Medical Board that supports his/her physically disabled.

NOTE:
Although, the aforesaid condition for age relaxation/fee exemption for physically handicapped candidates is applicable however, the PH candidates should undergo physical examination as may be prescribed by Government or the appointing authority and only those PH candidates will be eligible for the appointment who fulfill the physical and medical standard requirements for the reserved posts/services that are allotted by the Government only to Physically Handicapped candidates.

NB: Applications without the prescribed Fee (Except remission of Fee is claimed) shall be summarily rejected.
